Where did "normal" weather go?

Since when does every winter bring catastrophic cold fronts causing life to come to a standstill? Summers now are expected to bring hellish wildfires and drought? The world now has to expect epic hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding. And all this is normal these days?

The USA is a mid-latitude, temperate country. We have, or are supposed to have, a relatively mild climate, especially compared to countries in less favorable latitudes. Wiki defines a temperate climate as:

Meanwhile, the mainstream media continues to bury its head in the sand and act like this is a surprise; this unusual, freakish, weather that upsets human life everywhere, including America? Well guess what? Man-made climate change doesn’t care where you live.
